Child Safe Policy

1. Statement of Commitment

Our Club is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all children and young people. We have a zero-tolerance approach toward child harm and abuse. We are dedicated to embedding the 10 Child Safe Standards under the Queensland Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 into our daily operations, culture, and governance.

2. Cultural Safety & Diversity

We actively promote equity and respect diversity. In accordance with the universal principle of child safety, we prioritize the cultural safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, ensuring their identity, rights, and communities are valued and protected.

3. Screening & Blue Cards

All employees, volunteers, and committee members engaged in regulated activities involving children must hold a valid Queensland Blue Card. The Club will actively link, onboard, and track the status of all personnel using the official online portal before they commence any child-related duties.

4. Codes of Conduct

All coaches, officials, members, parents, and volunteers must strictly adhere to the Club's Child Safe Code of Conduct. This includes maintaining appropriate boundaries, minimizing unobserved 1-on-1 contact, and ensuring safe physical and digital environments.

Reporting Framework & Disclosures

Any allegation, disclosure, or suspicion of child abuse or harm must be treated with immediate priority. Personnel must follow the step-by-step reporting framework, document the concerns accurately, and report directly to the Child Safety Officer/MPIO or relevant Queensland authorities (Queensland Police Service or Child Safety Services).
